Always keen to learn more about the practice of yoga, Sophia considers herself a student first and teacher second. Her practice began in 2018, and she acquired her 200hr RYT certification in 2022. She loves exploring new environments and communities and has been able to teach a variety of populations in Wilmington, as well as in St. Augustine, FL, and Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica. Sophia has taught UNCW students, supported patients through their recovery at an addiction treatment center, and shared her practice with international travelers along with yogis of her local communities.
She views yoga as a spiritual and physical practice and values how all eight limbs of yoga have guided her to living a more purposeful life and desires to share that knowledge with others. With a special interest in being an advocate for mental health, Sophia always shows up to class prepared to hold space for whatever you may be needing to process, move, and breathe through. Yoga has served her tremendously in her own healing journey, and she intends to lead others in ways that encourage healing, self-love, and compassion toward all living beings. She is passionate about weaving her creativity onto the mat through unique sequences that are accessible to those of all walks of life.
