Let’s debunk some common yoga misconceptions! ✨

1. All yoga is the same.
Yoga offers variety in style, flow, classes, and teachers. Keep trying new practices until you find one that resonates with you. Dependent on your needs, your optimal practice can be found & loved!🦋

2. You have to fit a certain body type.
In our studio, we’re accepting of all body types. Yoga is for everyone and is inclusive! Yoga encourages self acceptance and body awareness. 🩷

3. Yoga is just for women.
Going along with acceptance, yoga benefits are not gender specific. Including decreasing stress, promoting healthy habits, increasing mood, and so much more. Even emoji’s disagree ->🧘🏽‍♂️

4. You have to be flexible.
Absolutely not! Yoga increases flexibility, but is not a requirement by any stretch. *wink* Mental & physical flexibility can be found with practice. 🌿

5. Advanced poses = Better at yoga
While depth and advanced posing is impressive, the biggest flex you can have in yoga is consistency! Also, progress is not linear. 😉

6. Yoga is just stretching.
Ohhhh man! Whether your goals are physically or mentally based, yoga aims to meet both. Stretching is definitely found in yoga, but here’s your gentle reminder: be prepared to sweat and be sore the next day! 🤭
